ACQUISITION OF SECURITIES BY INVESTEC LIMITED (“INVESTEC”)

In accordance with section 3.83(b) of the JSE Listings Requirements and section 122
of the Companies Act No. 71 of 2008, shareholders are advised that Tongaat Hulett has
received formal notification that Investec has acquired an interest in the ordinary shares
of the Company, such that Investec now holds 10,0883% of the total issued ordinary
shares of the Company.
