APPOINTMENT OF LEAD INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR

It is considered good corporate governance practice to appoint an independent non-executive director as the
lead independent director, regardless of whether the chairperson of the board is independent or not.

Accordingly, in accordance with the King IV recommended practice 32 of Principle 7 and paragraph 3.59 of
the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, shareholders are advised that the board of RFG has appointed Mark
Bower, current independent non-executive director and chair of the audit and risk committee, as lead
independent director, with effect from 22 May 2018.
