ALEXANDER FORBES ANNOUNCES BOARD APPOINTMENT: MRS MARILYN RAMPLIN

In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, shareholders are
advised that Mrs Marilyn Ramplin has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director
of the Company and member of the Group Risk and Audit and Capital Oversight Committees with
effect from 8 March 2018.

Mrs Ramplin has served on a number of the Company’s subsidiary boards and audit committees
for the past seven years and the Board believes she will add significant value and insights on the
Company’s board.

Mrs Ramplin is the founder of Novia One and has over 20 years’ industry experience within the
African and International markets. In 2016 she was recognised as the winner of the Association of
Black Securities and Investment Professionals Emerging Woman Owned Business in financial
services. In addition to various Alexander Forbes boards, she, inter alia, serves as Chairman of
Ashburton Management Company, as director and trustee on a number of Ashburton entities and
as a director on Strate. She is an astute strategic advisor and entrepreneur with a diverse financial
markets background covering risk, capital markets, regulations, investments, equities, alternatives,
compliance and governance and also acts as an advisor to global regulators.

The Board welcomes Mrs Ramplin and looks forward to her contribution to Alexander Forbes as it
delivers on its strategy of being a globally distinctive Pan-African financial services company.
