VOLUNTARY ANNOUNCEMENT: APPOINTMENT OF WHS GROUP MANAGING DIRECTOR AND DAWN
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBER



The shareholders are hereby advised that Mr Gustav Johannes Mertz, 45, who joined WHS (the largest
DAWN Group subsidiary) in January 2018 as the Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed as Group
Managing Director of WHS effective immediately. He will be a prescribed officer of the Group and a
member of the DAWN Executive Committee.

Gustav comes with 24 years’ experience across various industries and has a highly successful track
record. He has held various executive positions with companies in the Manufacturing and Supply
Chain industries including Enviroserv, Board Longyear and Imperial Logistics. He was also the Chief
Operating Officer at Metamin Metals & Minerals. Gustav obtained a B.Com Hons degree from the
University of Johannesburg (RAU) and completed his Global Executive Development Diploma at the
Gordon Institute of Business Science.

This appointment will add to the depth of the executive structures of the Group.
