PROPOSED NEW BLACK ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT TRANSACTION

RENEWAL OF CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT

PPC shareholders are referred to the detailed cautionary announcement dated 14 December 2017
regarding a proposed new black economic empowerment transaction.

As stated in the abovementioned announcement, in order to address non-compliance with the
Mining Charter, the board of directors of PPC has approved a framework for a top-up BEE
transaction to restore BEE equity shareholding in respect of the South African operations (the
“Proposed BEE Transaction”).

Detailed terms of the Proposed BEE Transaction have not yet been disclosed, accordingly, PPC
shareholders are advised to continue exercising caution when dealing in securities of PPC until a
detailed announcement is published.
