In accordance with the listing requirements of the BSE, Choppies Enterprises Limited is required to announce any circumstances or events that have, or are likely to have, a material impact on the financial results of the Company for the period being reported on. The group’s consolidated net profit for the year-ended 30 June 2017 will be lower than the comparative previous year. This is mainly due to the reported gain on sale of assets in the previous financial year, and losses incurred in new regions (Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique). The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed and reported on by the Company’s external auditors. Cautionary announcement Shareholders are advised that Choppies has entered into negotiations with a third party in South Africa for acquisitions of a limited number of retail outlets, which if successfully concluded, and subject to relevant regulatory approval, will result in a transaction that might have an impact on the price of the Company’s shares.
