Trading Update Interwaste Holdings Limited (Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa) (Registration number: 2006/037223/06) JSE code: IWE ISIN:ZAE000097903 (“Interwaste” or “the Group”) TRADING UPDATE In accordance with paragraph 3.4 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, a company is required to publish a trading statement as soon as it becomes aware, with a reasonable degree of certainty, that the financial results for the next period to be reported on are likely to vary by more than 20% from those for the previous corresponding period. Shareholders are advised that for the six months ended 30 June 2017 the following results are expected: - earnings per share (“EPS”) of between 4.75 and 5.00 cents, which are between 33% and 40% higher than the EPS of 3.57 cents for the previous period; - continuing EPS of between 4.75 and 5.00 cents which are between 14% and 20% higher than the continuing EPS of 4.17 cents for the pervious period; - headline earnings per share (“HEPS”) of between 4.42 and 4.65 cents, which are between 35% and 42% higher than the HEPS of 3.28 cents for the previous period; and - continuing HEPS of between 4.42 and 4.65 cents, which are between 14% and 20% higher than the HEPS of 3.88 cents for the previous period. The increase in earnings was primarily as result of improved asset utilisation, increased volumes from new operations, the cession of losses from discontinued operations exited in the prior year, and consolidations, relocations and disposals of various non-performing depots and businesses. The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed or reported on by the Group’s auditors.
