PROPRIETARY LIMITED (“Kufika Transport”), GENERAL UPDATE AND WITHDRAWAL OF CAUTIONARY
ANNOUNCEMENT


Acquisition of Kufika Transport
Labat, the listed BEE transport and logistics group has further increased its logistics capacity and
capability with the acquisition of a 55% stake in privately owned Kufika Transport, a transport and logistics
company based in Nigel. Kufika Transport offers a host of logistic management services and supply chain
solutions.

The two brothers Pieter and Adriaan Aucamp the founders and owners of Kufika have over 30 years’
experience in the transport and logistics field, They started the very successful Transmac logistics and the
Transmac group.

“This transaction will give us the much needed BEE credentials to grow the business significantly” says
Adriaan Aucamp director of Kufika.

Brian Van Rooyen CEO of Labat Africa said “Teaming up with the Kufika will further enhance and
strengthen Labat's ability to meet the challenges in respect of delivery” “The last couple of months have
been a challenge to keep up with the amount of work which we have won mainly because of our BEE
credentials” he added.

It is envisaged that the deal will secure a core owned fleet of about 100 vehicles to service existing and
new business. The transaction will also provide the platform to consolidate the joint operation into the
areas of agriculture, petro chemicals, dry bulk as well as certain FMCG areas which are currently
undertaken by both companies.

Van Rooyen said that the group has been looking at a number of potential targeted acquisitions and will
continue exploring opportunities in order to bolster the operations,

General update
Meanwhile Labat is also pleased to announce that Andre Ackerman and Cassie Van Der Bank formally
of Chrome Carriers have joined Labat to strengthen our team They come with a wealth of experience in
the transport and Logistics sector having worked for Super Group, the Imperial group, ISCOR and Trencor,
amongst others. Andre was responsible for an R500m budget per annum, managing a fleet of about 270
vehicles and controlling a staff compliment of 380 employees. Their combined expertise will further boost
the operational capacity of Labat. Andre will be based in Richards Bay and will be responsible for the
operations from the coast inwards whilst Cassie will be based at the operations in Nigel.
Withdrawal of cautionary announcement
Shareholders are referred to the renewal of cautionary announcement released on 12 June 2017 and are
advised that the Company is now withdrawing the cautionary announcement.
