The JSE has today confirmed that the increase is effective for dividends declared with a payment date on or after 22 February 2017. In its Preliminary Announcement for the year ended 31 December 2016 released on 23 February 2017, the Company announced that the Board had recommended a final dividend of 118.1p per ordinary share of 25p for the year ended 31 December 2016, resulting in an equivalent final dividend of 1,927.51010 SA cents per ordinary share for shareholders on the branch register in South Africa. If approved by shareholders at the Annual General Meeting to be held on 26 April 2017, the final dividend will be payable on 4 May 2017 to shareholders registered on either the UK main register or the South Africa branch register on 17 March 2017 (the record date). The final dividend is regarded as a ‘foreign dividend’ for the purposes of the South Africa Dividend tax.
