NOTICE OF ACQUISITION OF MURRAY & ROBERTS SECURITIES

In accordance with Section 122(3)(b) of the Companies Act, No 71 of 2008, as amended and
paragraph 3.83(b) of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, Murray & Roberts’
shareholders are advised that the Company has received formal notification that ATM
Holding GmbH, Munich (“ATM”), a company registered in accordance with the laws of
Germany, has acquired a beneficial interest in Murray & Roberts’ ordinary shares.

The total beneficial interest of ATM in Murray & Roberts’ ordinary shares, as disclosed by
ATM, is 25.4553% of the total issued ordinary share capital of the Company.
