Sanlam Limited announces the death of Board member Paul Bradshaw

Sanlam Limited regrets to announce the passing of Mr Paul Bradshaw (66), Independent Non-
Executive Director on the Board of Directors of Sanlam who died on Thursday, 12 January 2017.

Mr Bradshaw has been a key member of the Sanlam organisation, having been involved with the
business both here and in the UK for over two decades. He was a hugely supportive and
passionate member of the Board and made a significant contribution to Sanlam, as a friend, as a
professional and as a greatly admired colleague.

Mr Bradshaw was appointed to the Sanlam Board on 7 August 2013 and served on the Customer
Interest, Risk and Compliance as well as the Audit, Actuarial and Finance subcommittees of
Sanlam and Sanlam Life.

The founder and former Managing Director and Chairman of Skandia UK Life Assurance Limited,
Mr Bradshaw held various Sanlam Group directorships. These included Nucleus Financial Group,
where he was Chairman, Sanlam UK Holdings, Sanlam Life and Pensions UK, Sanlam Private
Investments and Sanlam Private Wealth Holdings UK.

Speaking on behalf of Sanlam, the Chairman of the Board, Mr Desmond Smith said: “I wish to
convey our deep-felt condolences to Paul’s wife Sheila; his children, Christopher and Laura; and
his family, friends and associates. He was a valued member of the Sanlam Board who brought a
wealth of international experience and offered valuable contributions to the Board and its
Committees. He will be sorely missed.”
