FATAL ACCIDENT AT BOKONI MINE’S BRAKFONTEIN SHAFT

December 13, 2016 Johannesburg. Atlatsa Resources Corporation (“Atlatsa” or the
“Company”) (TSX: ATL; JSE: ATL) regrets to announce the death of an employee at its Bokoni
Platinum Mine’s Brakfontein shaft.


The deceased, Mr Kutume Reuben Mabotha (a miner’s assistant), was fatally injured in a
water-related incident on Friday, 9 December 2016. No other employees were injured in the
incident. The Company offers their heartfelt condolences to Mr Mabotha’s family, friends and
colleagues. Mr Mabotha’s family is being supported by the Company at this time.


An investigation into the incident has begun, in conjunction with South Africa’s Department of
Mineral Resources. Pending the outcome of the investigation the mine has instituted its own
internal audit and safety procedures in order to take the necessary remedial actions.
