CHANGES TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS – RESIGNATION, CHANGE IN FUNCTION OF
DIRECTOR AND APPOINTMENT

In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, the board of
directors of Buildmax (“the Board”) hereby notifies shareholders that Mr Terry Bantock is stepping
down as the Chief Executive Officer of the Company effective 31 October 2016 as he is relocating to
take up an opportunity in Cape Town. Terry will continue to be fully involved in the unfolding of the
Company’s strategy until 28 February 2017 and with effect from 1 November 2016, will continue as a
non-executive director of the Company.

With effective from 1 November 2016, Mr Graeme Montgomery, currently a non-executive director of
Buildmax, has been appointed by the Board as Chief Executive Officer.
