The Sale Facility was provided to enable shareholders on South32’s Australian register, with registered addresses in Australia or New Zealand with holdings valued at less than A$500, to sell their shares without incurring brokerage or handling costs. Further detail on the Sale Facility is contained in the Sale Facility announcement dated 25 August 2016. At the close of the Sale Facility there were 9,085,702 ordinary shares to be sold, held by 92,873 shareholders (20.68% of total shareholders). The shares were sold at A$2.6109 per share, representing the volume weighted average price achieved over the five day period from 20 to 26 October 2016. Sale proceeds will be paid on 9 November 2016.
