DISCLOSURE OF PIC BENEFICIAL HOLDING OF SECURITIES IN PICK N
PAY STORES LIMITED

In accordance with section 122(3)(b) of the Companies Act and section 3.83(b)
of the JSE Listings Requirements, shareholders are advised that the Public
Investment Corporation has a total beneficial interest of 9.602% in the total
number of the Company’s shares in issue.

Shareholders were advised on 30 September 2016 that the Public Investment
Corporation had 12.035% of the Company’s shares in issue. The dilution of the
Public Investment Corporation’s total beneficial interest is due to the corporate
action to unbundle of the Pick n Pay pyramid structure and a misallocation of
units due within the Public Investment Corporation’s externally managed
portfolio.

Formal notification has been received from the Public Investment Corporation
and Pick n Pay Stores Limited has filed the required notice with the Takeover
Regulation Panel.
