CHANGE TO THE BOARD – RESIGNATION OF A DIRECTOR

In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of JSE Limited, the board of directors of
Renergen (“the Board”) hereby notifies its shareholders that Mr Russell Broadhead has resigned as an
independent non-executive director and member of the Audit and Risk Committee with effect from

The decision to resign was made following his acceptance of a position as executive director of a company
operating in the renewable energy sector.

The Board has commenced the process to appoint a new independent non-executive director and
shareholders will be advised once an appointment has been made.

Russell was a true asset to the company and his experience will be greatly missed. Renergen wishes
