BOARD CHANGES:
  - RESIGNATION OF DIRECTOR
  - APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR

In accordance with paragraph 3.59 (b) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited (‘‘JSE’’),
holders of securities in NewGold are hereby advised that Mr. Edward M Southey has resigned as
independent non-executive director of NewGold, with effect from 30 September 2016.

The board of directors of NewGold wishes to thank Mr. Southey for his valued contributions during his
tenure as a director and wish him well in his future endeavours.

Holders of securities in NewGold are further advised that Mr. Roger M H Pitt replaces Mr. Southey on
the board of NewGold and is appointed as independent non-executive director with effect from
1 October 2016.

Mr. Pitt is a chartered accountant, with a BCom (Hons)(Accounting) degree from the Rand Afrikaans
University.

After completing his articles he moved into corporate finance where he gained broad experience in
the full scope of corporate actions and also attended board and audit committee meetings of JSE
Main Board and AltX listed clients in order to advise them on statutory and regulatory requirements.

Mr. Pitt owns and is currently running an import and distribution business in the medical industry.

The board of directors of NewGold welcomes Mr. Pitt and looks forward to his contribution to its
development and growth.
