Voluntary quarterly update on the suspension of the Company PLATFIELDS LIMITED Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa (Registration number 2002/005851/06) Share code: PLL ISIN: ZAE000151825 (“Platfields” or “the Company”) VOLUNTARY QUARTERLY UPDATE ON THE SUSPENSION OF THE COMPANY The directors of Platfields advise that the Company remains suspended due to the requirement to finalise and publish interim results for the six months ended 31 August 2013, 31 August 2014 and 31 August 2015 as well as the years ended 28 February 2014, 28 February 2015 and 28 February 2016. Shareholders are also referred to the previous announcements published on SENS, the last of which was released on 5 September 2016. The council for Platfields has advised that the provisional liquidation court order was not extended by the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Local Division, Johannesburg and thus technically the Company is not in liquidation anymore. The Company has, however, subsequently been advised that the parties must return to Court because the previous set down was in the unopposed Court. The matter is now set down for 17 October 2016. Shareholders are further advised that the Company has entered into negotiations with an interested party with regard to a co-operation agreement for the bulk sampling of the Company’s gold prospects. As announced on 5 September 2016, the Company remains under cautionary. Shareholders will be kept appraised of developments in due course.
