Fatality at Harmony’s Kusasalethu mine

Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited (“Harmony”) regrets to
advise that an employee was fatally injured in a fall of
ground accident at its Kusasalethu mine near Carletonville
early this morning.

Investigations into the accident are underway and management
has stopped mining activities on the level where the accident
occurred.

Harmony’s management team wish to express their deepest
condolences to the members of the deceased's family.
