RENEWAL OF CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT

Shareholders are referred to the cautionary announcement released on the Stock Exchange News
Service of the JSE Limited on 23 February 2016, where Aveng shareholders were advised of various
non-binding offers received from numerous parties to acquire from, or partner with Aveng, either the
entire Steel operating group or certain of its individual business units.

Confidential discussions are ongoing and shareholders are to continue to exercise caution when dealing
