Erin Energy Announces Filing of Its Annual Report on Form 10-K

HOUSTON, March 24, 2016 – Erin Energy Corporation (“Erin Energy” or the “Company”) (NYSE
MKT: ERN) (JSE: ERN) announced today it has filed its annual report on Form 10-K for the year
ended December 31, 2015, with the Securities and Exchange Commission, which contained a
going concern qualification from its independent registered public accounting firm.

A copy of the Annual Report on Form 10-K is available to be viewed or downloaded within the
