DISCLOSURE OF BENEFICIAL INTERESTS IN SECURITIES IN MTN GROUP

MTN Group has on 22 March 2016 received a notification of disclosure of acquisition of a
beneficial interest from M1 Limited, advising that it has acquired a beneficial interest in
securities of MTN Group, such that the total of all beneficial interests held by M1 Limited is
now 10.01% of the issued ordinary share capital of MTN Group. This disclosure is in terms
of section 122 of the Companies Act 71 of 2008, as amended and Regulation 121 of the
Companies Regulations, 2011 and paragraph 3.83(b) of the JSE Limited Listings
Requirements.
