Notice of an acquisition of a beneficial interest
In truworths securities

Truworths advises shareholders in terms of Section 122(3)(b) of the Companies
Act, (no 71 of 2008, as amended) and paragraph 3.83(b) of the JSE Listings
Requirements, that the company has received a notification that Aberdeen Asset
Managers Ltd, acting on behalf of its clients (“Aberdeen”), has by way of the
recall of a prior scrip lending transaction acquired a beneficial interest in the
company’s securities (“the acquisition”).

Following the acquisition Aberdeen now holds 20.38% of the issued ordinary
shares of the company.
