AND MTN RENEWAL OF CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT

MTN Zakhele shareholders are referred to the announcement released by MTN Group Limited (“MTN”) on the
Stock Exchange News Service on 24 February 2016 providing an update on the fine imposed on MTN Nigeria
and renewal of its cautionary announcement.

As MTN Zakhele’s only material investment and asset consists of MTN shares, MTN Zakhele shareholders
should consider the update and cautionary announcement, as well as subsequent announcements released by
