Following the previously announced strategic refocus initiated by the Board for the Steel operating
group, amongst other actions, Aveng has received various non-binding offers from numerous parties,
to acquire or partner with Aveng, for both the entire operating group and/or for certain of its individual
business units.   Confidential discussions are ongoing though there can be no certainty that these
discussions will result in any transactions.

Accordingly, shareholders in Aveng should exercise caution when trading in their securities.
