UPDATE ON APPLICATION FOR THE PROVISIONAL LIQUIDATION OF MESSINA COPPER

Shareholders are advised that, following the announcement of Thursday 12 November 2015, the application
for the provisional liquidation of Messina Copper (Botswana) Pty Ltd (“Messina”), the operating subsidiary of
ZCI’s subsidiary, African Copper Plc (“ACU”), brought in the Botswana High Court, held at Lobatse by Diesel
Power Mining (Pty) Ltd, Messina’s mining contractor, was heard on an urgent basis on 13 November 2015
and a provisional winding-up order granted.

Mr. Massimo Marinelli, Country Managing partner for Deloitte & Touche, Botswana has been appointed
provisional liquidator. The return date has been set for 11 December 2015 on which date interested parties
may appear to show cause why the interim order should not be made final.

As more information becomes available, the Company shall provide further updates.
