CHANGE IN BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Shareholders of SPAR (“Shareholders”) are referred to the announcement released on SENS on
6 August 2015, relating to the appointment of Ms Tantaswa Fubu as an independent non-executive
director.

In accordance with paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, Shareholders are
advised that due to Ms Fubu’s desire to return to full time employment she has chosen to withdraw
from her appointment to the SPAR Board.
