Resignation as Directors and Chairman / Appointment of Chairman

Shareholders are advised that Dr Judy Dlamini has indicated her intention to resign as both
chairman and director of the Company at Aspen’s AGM, scheduled for 7 December 2015. The
Aspen board has agreed that Mr Kuseni Dlamini, currently an independent non-executive
director of the Company, be appointed as chairman with effect from that date.

The Aspen board wishes to express its sincere gratitude and appreciation to Dr Dlamini for her
leadership as chairman of Aspen over the past 8 years and for her many invaluable
contributions to the Company during her 10 year tenure as director.

Mr Dlamini (MPhil (Oxon), BSocSci (Hons) Natal) has been an independent non-executive
director of Aspen since 1 April 2012 and has wide leadership experience in diverse corporate
sectors – he is currently the chairman of Massmart Holdings and also held this position at Times
Media Group Limited until its delisting in June 2015. He was previously the CEO of Old Mutual
South Africa and Emerging Markets and has also held directorships at, amongst other
companies, Anglo American South Africa and the Richards Bay Coal Terminal Company.
Referring to his appointment as chairman, Dr Dlamini said: “I am very pleased that Kuseni is to
succeed me as chairman of Aspen and I have every confidence that I am leaving this
chairmanship in very capable hands when I step down at Aspen’s AGM in December 2015.”
