NOTIFICATION OF TRANSACTIONS OF DIRECTORS, PERSONS DISCHARGING MANAGERIAL
RESPONSIBILITY OR CONNECTED PERSONS

Notification made in accordance with Disclosure Rule 3.1.4R(1)(a) of the Disclosure Rules and
Transparency Rules.

With reference to an announcement made on 2 April 2015, Mr J Vandermeulen, a person discharging
managerial responsibilities, was granted an award of 5,134 British American Tobacco p.l.c. 25p
ordinary shares (the “Shares”) under the Deferred Share Bonus Scheme at an award price of 3,625
pence per Share (the “Original Award”) on 27 March 2015. The Company has since been advised that
the Original Award granted to Mr Vandermeulen was calculated incorrectly. As a consequence, on 10
June 2015, the Original Award was amended by awarding a further 758 Shares to Mr Vandermeulen at
3,625 pence per Share, being the same price as the Original Award, resulting in a total Deferred Share
Bonus Scheme award for 2015 of 5,892 Shares.

Following this notification, Mr Vandermeulen has a total beneficial and family interest in 11,346
Shares (including 11,155 Deferred Shares*).

* Of the 11,155 Deferred Shares referred to under total beneficial and family interests for Mr
  Vandermeulen, a total of 2,725 Deferred Shares will be cash settled by the Company.
