The appointment will take effect on 21 October 2015 at the conclusion of the Company’s annual general meeting (AGM). As well as being an independent non-executive director of Implats since August 2010, Dr Mandla Gantsho (also a CA(SA)) is currently the chairman of Sasol Limited, the chairman of Ithala Development Finance Corporation Limited and the chief executive officer of Africa Rising Capital. Prior to this, he was vice president operations: infrastructure, private sector and regional integration of the African Development Bank and Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Development Bank of South Africa. Dr Khotso Mokhele will step down as a director and chairman of Implats at the AGM. Dr Mokhele was appointed to the Board in June 2004 as a non-executive director and was appointed chairman in 2009.
