CHANGE TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

In accordance with paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, Afrox shareholders are
advised of the resignation of Mr Michael Huggon as Chairman of the Afrox board (the “Board”).
Mr Huggon has announced his intention to leave The Linde Group (the holding company of Afrox)
and as a result will step down as a non-executive director and Chairman of the Board, with effect
from 30 May 2015, to pursue interests outside of The Linde Group.

The Board is actively considering the successor to Mr Huggon and an announcement will be made in
due course. Should a new Chairman not have been appointed by 30 May 2015, Dr Khotso Mokhele,
lead independent non-executive director, will assume the responsibilities of interim Chairman, until
the new Chairman is appointed.

The Board wishes to express its appreciation and thanks to Mr Huggon for the valuable and
extensive contribution he has made since his appointment to the Board in April 2011. Under Mr
Huggon's Chairmanship, Afrox’s safety record has been transformed and the recently announced
restructuring is considered to be well on track and already delivering significant benefits to the
business with clear efficiency and portfolio improvements to follow this year. Continuity is also
assured by the recently appointed new managing director, Mr Schalk Venter.
