Mr Huggon has announced his intention to leave The Linde Group (the holding company of Afrox) and as a result will step down as a non-executive director and Chairman of the Board, with effect from 30 May 2015, to pursue interests outside of The Linde Group. The Board is actively considering the successor to Mr Huggon and an announcement will be made in due course. Should a new Chairman not have been appointed by 30 May 2015, Dr Khotso Mokhele, lead independent non-executive director, will assume the responsibilities of interim Chairman, until the new Chairman is appointed. The Board wishes to express its appreciation and thanks to Mr Huggon for the valuable and extensive contribution he has made since his appointment to the Board in April 2011. Under Mr Huggon's Chairmanship, Afrox’s safety record has been transformed and the recently announced restructuring is considered to be well on track and already delivering significant benefits to the business with clear efficiency and portfolio improvements to follow this year.
