Each portfolio comprises a separate exchange traded fund and seeks to track the performance of a specified index of securities. Indices are provided by an index provider appointed by the Manager of NFCIS from time to time. Investors are advised that the current index provider, Research Affiliates, LLC (“Research Affiliates”) determined to discontinue the calculation and publication of enhanced indices and as a result will, with effect from 31 May 2015, no longer provide this service to the NewFunds eRAFI portfolios. NewFunds has entered into an agreement with S&P Dow Jones Indices (“S&P”) to replace Research Affiliates as index provider. In conjunction with the change of the index provider from Research Affiliates to S&P, the respective names of the NewFunds eRAFI portfolios will change accordingly. Removal of old securities on the JSE trading Monday, 1 June 2015 system Record Date Friday, 5 June 2015 Accounts of dematerialised holders will be updated Monday. 8 June 2015 In terms of section 98 of the Act, all investors in the NewFunds eRAFI portfolios were entitled to participate in a ballot to vote in favour of or against the proposed amendments to the NewFunds eRAFI portfolios. A circular was issued to investors on 25 March 2015 setting out the proposed amendments to the NewFunds eRAFI portfolios and inviting investors to participate in the balloting process. The balloting process closed on 11 May 2015 and investors holding a majority of the value of the participatory interests voted in favour of the proposed amendments. Investors are advised that application has been made to both the JSE Limited (“JSE”) and the Financial Services Board (“FSB”) for approval of the change in index provider and the resultant name changes, and that such changes will come into effect on 1 June 2015, subject to the required approvals being granted by the JSE and FSB. Current investors may remain invested in the portfolios or opt out of their investment prior to the appointment of S&P.
