RESIGNATION OF NON-EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN

In terms of paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Listings Requirements, ChemSpec wishes to
advise shareholders of the resignation of Mr Ivan Arthur James Clark, as non-
executive Chairman of the Company with effect from 12 February 2015 due to health
reasons. A new Chairman will be announced in due course.

The Chemspec board of directors wish to extend their sincere thanks to Mr Clark for
his outstanding contribution to the Company over the last 4 and a half years.
