            Sue Farr, Pedro Malan & Dimitri Panayotopoulos to join the Board of
                                British American Tobacco

Sue Farr, Pedro Malan and Dimitri Panayotopoulos, will join the Board of British American
Tobacco with effect from 2 February 2015 as Non-Executive Directors.

Sue Farr is the former Chairwoman of both The Marketing Society and the Marketing Group of
Great Britain and, since 2003, has been an Executive Director of Chime Communications, the
listed provider of communications services in the advertising, marketing and public relations
fields. With a distinguished career in corporate communications, in both agency and large
private and public sector organisations such as the BBC and Vauxhall Motors, she has
considerable expertise in marketing, branding and consumer issues. Sue Farr also has
significant experience as a Plc Non-Executive Director. In addition to her non-executive roles
with UK dairy food company Dairy Crest, hotel operator Millennium & Copthorne and wood
technology company, Accsys Technologies, Farr was previously a Non-Executive Director with
New Look, the global fashion retailer.

Pedro Malan served as the Finance Minister of Brazil from 1995 to 2002, having been
President of the Central Bank of Brazil from August 1993 to year end 1994, and before that the
Chief External Debt Negotiator for Brazil from mid-1991 to 1993. Dr. Malan is currently a
member of the Boards of utility company EDP - Energias do Brasil (since 2006) and
construction and industrial maintenance company Mills Estruturas e Serviços de Engenharia
S/A (since 2010). He has also served on the Board of Souza Cruz S.A, an associate company
of British American Tobacco, since 2010, a position he will step down from following his
appointment to the Board of British American Tobacco. An expert in international macro-
economic policy, Dr. Malan is a former Chairman of the Board of the Unibanco bank (2004 –
2008) and continues to sit as Chairman of the International Advisory Board of Itaú Unibanco. Dr.
Malan is also a Director of Thomson Reuters Founders Share Company, a position he’s held
since 2011 and has been a member of the Temasek International Panel since 2012.

Dimitri Panayotopoulos has been a Senior Advisor at the Boston Consulting Group, the global
management consulting firm, since April 2014 and is a Board member at Logitech International.
A former Vice Chairman and Advisor to the Chairman and CEO of Procter & Gamble, where he
started his career in 1977 as a salesman in the UK, he has significant international sales and
brand building expertise having spent time working in Switzerland, Germany, Egypt and China.
During his time at Procter & Gamble, Mr Panayotopoulos was involved in and led on significant
breakthrough innovations and continued to focus on this, speed to market and scale across all
of Procter & Gamble’s businesses while Vice Chairman of all the Global Business Units. He
retired from Procter & Gamble in January 2014.
