Coal of Africa Limited (the “Company") was notified on 19 January 2015 by TMM Holdings (Pty) Ltd (“TMM”)
that as at 18 December 2014, TMM held a total of 136,000,000 ordinary shares of nil par value each in the
Company, representing 8.51 per cent of the Company's issued share capital at that date. These shares were
acquired as part of the 2 Stage Placement, announced on 26 August 2014, at a price of 5.5 pence.
