CHANGES IN DIRECTORATE
In compliance with section 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Limited, Liberty Group announces the resignation of Saki Macozoma as chairman
and non-executive director, with effect from 31 December 2014.
Mr Macozoma was appointed as chairman of the group in 2007, but has served as
a non-executive director since 2003.
Mr Macozoma states that “There are opportunities that have opened up to
Safika Holdings that require my full time attention if we are going to do
justice to them. In addition, the leadership transition in the Group is done
and is working and the restraints on me and Safika Holdings that arose out of
the Katleho empowerment transaction expire on 31 December 2014. It is these
factors taken together that make now the right time to bow out of the
leadership of the Liberty Group."
The board would like to extend its appreciation to Mr Macozoma for his
contribution and leadership and wish him well in his future endeavors.
Angus Band, the group’s Lead Independent Director, will act as chairman until
the requisite regulatory process for board succession has been completed.
