Mr Booth, who is based in London, has vast executive and board experience in the financial services industry locally and abroad. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Management of Allianz SE (formerly Allianz AG), responsible for Global Insurance Lines (corporate and specialty insurance), Reinsurance and Anglo Markets (UK, Ireland and Australia) and will take up the Sanlam position upon his retirement from this position at year-end. Born in South Africa and educated locally and in Germany, Booth is also a Member of the Board of Directors of the Association of British Insurers and is chairman of a number of company boards. Locally, he previously held executive positions at Santam Limited, AA Mutual, Price Forbes, Southern Life and Munich Re, among others.
