APPOINTMENT OF FINANCIAL DIRECTOR

Shareholders are referred to the announcement dated 22 November 2013, in
which the Company advised of the appointment of Ms Amanda Wightman, as
interim Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) of the Group. Basil Read is pleased to
confirm Ms Wightman’s appointment as CFO and Financial Director of the
Company with immediate effect.

Ms Wightman joined Basil Read in December 2005, as Group Financial
Manager, and has been acting as the interim CFO of the Group for the past
11 months. She is a chartered accountant with more than 20 years of
experience. Ms Wightman spent five years at AECI Limited in the company’s
treasury department, culminating in her appointment as treasury accountant.
Miss Wightman also worked for Standard Bank for seven years, where she
completed her financial management (TOPP) articles and gained valuable
experience in the company’s Africa Division.

The Chairman of the board of Basil Read (the “Board”), Mr Lester Peteni,
welcomed Ms Wightman’s appointment saying, “The Board looks forward to
working with Amanda as we continually improve business performance and
the strategic transformation of the Company”.
