MOODY’S DOWNGRADES REAL PEOPLE’S LONG-TERM NATIONAL SCALE
RATINGS

Real People announces that Moody’s Investor Services
(“Moody’s”) has, on 8 September 2014, downgraded Real People’s
long-term national scale issuer ratings to Ba3.za from Ba1.za
and simultaneously placed the rating on review for a further
downgrade. The short-term rating was not affected by the
rating action.

According to Moody’s, the downgrade is a reflection of their
expectation of further asset quality pressures amidst a
challenging operating environment, which they anticipate
resulting in higher provisioning requirements.

Moody’s have stated that the rationale for placing Real People
on review for further downgrade is focused on its ability to
successfully complete its capital raising exercise and ease
funding pressures.

The Moody’s press release can be found on Real People’s
website (www.realpeoplegroup.co.za).
