DECLARED DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO PLC (“BRITISH AMERICAN”) HOT
ENHANCED DIVIDEND SECURITIES – (“BTIIHD”)


With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of British American have declared a dividend of 47.5
pence per ordinary share payable on Monday, 30 September 2013 to ordinary shareholders, recorded in the
books of the company at the close of business on Tuesday, 30 September 2014.

The currency exchange rate applicable for the dividend is GBP: ZAR = 17.97280 as at 28 July 2014.

In terms of the new Dividend Tax effective 1 April 2012, the following additional information is disclosed:

1)   local dividend tax rate is 15%;
2)   no STC credits available for utilisation;
3)   net local dividend amount is 725.65180 South African cents per share for shareholders liable to pay the new
     Dividends Tax and 853.70800 South African cents per share for shareholders exempt from paying the new
     Dividends Tax;
4)   the issued share capital of British American is 2,026,655,084 ordinary shares;
5)   the British American tax reference number is 9378193172; and
6)   Investec Bank Limited tax reference number is 9675/053/71/5.


Accordingly, the holders of BTIIHD will receive a dividend amount per ordinary share on Tuesday, 30 September
2014 in terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the Supplement between the holders and Investec Bank
Limited. The last day to trade (“cum” the dividend) in order to participate in the dividend will be Friday, 15 August
2014.

BTIIHD Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading “ex” the dividend from the commencement of
business on Monday, 18 August 2014, and the record date will be Friday, 22 August 2014.
