FULFILMENT OF ALL CONDITIONS PRECEDENT TO THE VAAL QUARRY TRANSACTION

Shareholders are referred to the announcement released by the Company on SENS on
10 December 2013 regarding, inter alia, the acquisition by a subsidiary of Buildmax (“Letamo Quarry”)
of the assets and liabilities of Vaal Quarry (Pty) Ltd, including the applicable mining right (“the Vaal
Quarry Transaction”).

Buildmax is pleased to announce that the Department of Mineral Resources has approved the cession
in terms of section 11 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, 2002, to cede the
mining right to Letamo Quarry.

All conditions precedent to the Vaal Quarry Transaction have now been obtained. Operations have
commenced on the back of strong aggregate demand for the construction of road infrastructure in the
close vicinity.
