In the prior 6 month period to 30 June 2013, the Company reported a consolidated loss of R20 million, a loss per share of 162 cents per share and a headline loss of 324 cents per share. Shareholders are advised that, for the 6 month period ended 30 June 2014 the Company is expected to report a consolidated loss of R40 million, expected loss per share of 329 cents per share and expected headline loss of 620 cents per share. While attritional losses have been improving compared to prior periods, the frequency and severity of large losses, in particular the property and marine portfolios, increased sharply, impacting the overall result.
