Revised Trading Update

In terms of paragraph 3.4 (b) of the JSE Limited (“JSE”) Listings Requirements, companies are
required to publish a trading statement as soon as they become reasonably certain that the financial
results for the period to be reported on will differ by more than 20% from the previous
corresponding period.

Shareholders are referred to the SENS announcement on 12 May 2014 and are advised that
Gooderson is currently finalizing its results for the year ended 28 February 2014 and advises that the
earnings per share (“EPS”) is expected to be between 5.00 cents to 5.50 cents compared to the
previous corresponding period of 16.30 cents. The large decrease is due to profits earned on the sale
of Beach Hotel in July 2012 of R15.79 million. The headline earnings per share (“HEPS”)is expected to
be around 5.00 cents and 5.55 cents compared to the previous corresponding period of 3.97 cents

The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed or
reported on by Gooderson’s auditors. The company’s financial results for the year ended
28 February 2014 are expected to be released at the end of May 2014.
