Trading Update

In terms of paragraph 3.4 (b) of the JSE Limited (“JSE”) Listings Requirements, companies are required to
publish a trading statement as soon as they become reasonably certain that the financial results for the
period to be reported on will differ by more than 20% from the previous corresponding period.

Accordingly, a review of the financial results for the year ending 28 February 2014 by management has
indicated that headline earnings per share (“HEPS”) is expected to increase by more than 25% when
compared to the previous reporting period. The expected earnings per share (“EPS”) is expected to
decrease by more than 50% due to the profit realized on the sale of the Beach Hotel in July 2012 of R15.79
million when compared to the previous corresponding period. A further trading statement will be
published on 22 May 2014 once the company has more certainty with regards to its financial results for the
year ending 28 February 2014.

The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed or reported on
by Gooderson`s auditors. The Company’s financial results for the period ended 28 February 2014 are
expected to be released at the end of May 2014.
