NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Glencore Xstrata announces that its 2014 Annual General Meeting will be held at Theater-Casino Zug,
Artherstrasse 2-4, Zug, Switzerland on 20 May 2014 at 11 a.m. Central European Summer Time.

Pursuant to this, the following documents are being posted or made available to shareholders from today:

        - Notice of 2014 Annual General Meeting (“AGM Notice”); and

        - Form of Proxy for the 2014 Annual General Meeting.

These documents have also been posted on the Company’s website at: www.glencorexstrata.com/agm.

Glencore Xstrata will today submit to the UK National Storage Mechanism a copy of its AGM Notice in
accordance with LR 9.6.1R. The AGM Notice will shortly be available for inspection on the National Storage
Mechanism: www.hemscott.com/nsm.do.
