NOTIFICATION OF TRANSACTIONS OF DIRECTORS, PERSONS DISCHARGING
MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITY OR CONNECTED PERSONS

Notification made in accordance with Disclosure Rule 3.1.4R(1)(a) of the Disclosure Rules
and Transparency Rules.

1.   The Company was notified on 3 April 2014 by the trustee of the British American
     Tobacco Employee Share Ownership Plan that on 2 April 2014 the following executive
     director and other persons discharging managerial responsibility (together the
     “Participants”) had purchased ordinary shares of 25p each in British American
     Tobacco p.l.c. (the “Shares”) by way of the Partnership Share Scheme at a price of
     3,324 pence per Share.

     The number of Shares purchased by each Participant are as follows:

2.   The Company was notified on 3 April 2014 by the trustee of the British American
     Tobacco International Employee Share Ownership Plan (the “Plan”) (the “Trustee”)
     that on 1 April 2014 awards of ordinary shares of 25p each in British American
     Tobacco p.l.c. made under the 2011 International Share Reward Scheme (“ISRS”) had
     vested and, in accordance with the rules of the Plan, the Trustee had transferred
     accrued dividend shares to the persons discharging managerial responsibility as
     follows:
