PLACEMENT OF FORTRESS A and B LINKED UNITS

Java Capital is authorised to place up to 37 million Fortress A linked units and 10.25 million Fortress B
linked units on behalf of Amber Peek Investments Proprietary Limited (“Amber Peek”).

Amber Peek was established inter alia by Fortress to facilitate broad-based black economic empowerment.
It is in effect 100% black-owned, 48% by The Resilient Education Trust, 26% by Aquarella Investments 553
Proprietary Limited (owned by 50 black individuals from Thohoyandou) and 26% by Celtic Rose
Investments 10 Proprietary Limited (owned by nine black individuals from Johannesburg). The ultimate
beneficiaries wish to realise their investments in Fortress and the Fortress board has agreed to accommodate
the acceleration of this realisation.

The placement will be conducted through an accelerated book build process undertaken by Java Capital and
