DIRECTOR APPOINTMENTS

Standard Bank Group Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of
Francine-Ann du Plessis, André Charles Parker and Bajabulile Swazi
Tshabalala as non-executive directors of its board and the board of
Standard Bank South Africa Limited with effect from 14 March 2014.

Ms Du Plessis (59) is an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa and a
Chartered Accountant.  She is a director of Loubser Du Plessis Inc. and
currently serves on the boards of Arcelor Mittal South Africa, Life
Healthcare Group Holdings, Naspers, Palabora Mining Company and Royal
Bafokeng Holdings.

Mr Parker (62) is currently the chairman of Tiger Brands and a director of
Distell. Before his retirement he was employed by The South African
Breweries Ltd where he spent the last ten years prior to retirement in
charge of SABMiller’s Africa (excluding South Africa) and Asian portfolio
of business.

Ms Tshabalala (48) is the chief executive officer of the Industrial
Development Group.   She is a non-executive director of Liberty Group and
Liberty Holdings, Stanlib Asset Management and the Council for Scientific &
Industrial Research.
