RESIGNATION OF DIRECTOR
The group announces the resignation of Koosum Kalyan as non-
executive director, with immediate effect. She was appointed to the
boards of The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited and Standard
Bank Group(collectively “the boards”) in December 2007.

The chairman of the group and boards wish to thank Ms Kalyan for her
contribution to the boards.
