APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR


In accordance with paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Listings
Requirements, shareholders are advised that Mr Dawood
Asmal CA (SA) has been appointed as a Non-executive
director of the company with effect date hereof.

Dawood Asmal qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1996
and comes with a wealth of commercial experience gained
in a multitude of industries. Post articles he
specialised in the Retail Industry beginning his career
with The City Express stores, an 80 chain retail store of
high fashion women’s clothing, The Game Discount World
group, the Motor industry in a VW and Toyota group
franchise and then migrated to the corporate world with
Thebe Investments (Pty) Ltd, Primedia Limited and Labat
in which he maintained his commercial interests.

At Labat he has held various positions including that of
Financial Director, Managing Director of South African
Micro-Electronic Systems, a high technology Semi-
Conductor Manufacturing facility and Head of the
Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Feasibility studies. We
welcome Dawood to the non-executive role and look forward
to his valuable input into the aggressive expansion
planned for Labat.
